Specifications Additional Information Compatibility with Tripod Mounts   The Cotton Carrier can also be used with many of the popular tripod quick release adapters. Please note that we provide this information as a convenience to our customers and can offer no direct support for your specific configuration. We encourage you to visit the website of your product's manufacturer. In short, you need to match whatever camera plate your tripod head is using. The Cotton Carrier Camera Insert will mount onto any quick release adapter or clamp that has a 1/4" threaded hole on the underside. Some products require (or include) a 1/4" to 3/8" threading bushing. EXAMPLES: If you use the Bogen Manfrotto system:  consider our 323 RC2 or 394 RC4 If you use the Velbon system:  consider the QRA-667L Quick Release Adapter and Plate Assembly If you use the Kirk, Arca-Swiss, Markins, Really Right Stuff*  or other tripod systems using Arca-Swiss plates:  consider our Kirk QRC-2 Quick Release Clamp (which features a threaded 1/4" hole) *If you already own a Really Right Stuff quick release clamp such as the B2-40 LR or B2-mAS which has a non-threaded hole, you will need to order our Really Right Stuff (RRS) Adapter Kit. IMPORTANT: Along with using an Allen Key and screw driver to secure your RRS Quick Release Clamp to the Cotton Carrier Hub, we strongly recommend you use a thread locker, such as LocTite® 425 ONLY, as this is a fast curing, low strength adhesive for locking metal and plastics fasteners. If you have any spillage, it is advised to use an Acetone cleaner for any excess. Although it should not be required with sufficient tightening of the camera hub that causes compression of the rubber washer, you may wish to use an added measure of security to keeping your camera hub on by using a NON-PERMANENT, PLASTIC SAFE Thread Locker (e.g. LocTite 425). shipping costs July 2, 2010 Reviewer: Anonymous Person from berlin, berlin Germany   Today I received my cotton camera carrier, shipped from Canada to Germany. My carrier cost $99. Shipping cost $38 or so. But I had to pay an extra 37.95 euros (roughly $50) when the UPS man delivered it. 26 euros were tax, apparently, though VAT is under 20%. And the remaining 12 euros were a UPS fee. The problem with this is that nowhere does this website inform you of these extra charges. If you are not familiar with ordering UPS shipping internationally, it will come as a huge surprise. When this company informs me that the shipping costs are under $40, I expect to pay under $40, and not to be surprised by the added tax and UPS charges. It would therefore be of great service if this company would inform potential customers of this large extra fee for shipping internationally. Was this review helpful to you?

I love it June 27, 2010 Reviewer: Tom Iarossi from South Jordan, UT United States   This is a well-designed, high-quality device that has made my outdoor shooting much more convenient. My DSLR  (Nikon D90 with 18-135 zoom) stays tight and mounts high on my chest, so it is out of danger most of the time and both my hands are free when needed.
