Based on popular demand, we now provide a security tether solution for users of our Cotton Carrier system. Installation could not be more simple: attach the strap end to the eyelet of your camera body using the included split rings and the other end to the shoulder strap D-ring of your Cotton Carrier.

• The Cotton Carrier Camera System involves moving parts that must be maintained periodically. Install and, using the included Tightening Tool, tighten the Camera Hub as TIGHTLY AS POSSIBLE, as this is what keeps your camera securely attached to your Cotton Carrier. Check it until you are satisfied it is not loosening through the turning action of the camera.
• As well as confirming the condition of both the Camera Hub and Camera Receptacle for any signs of wear or damage, keep both the Lexan Camera Receptacle and Camera Hub clean and free of any grit and debris, and clean it regularly as you would with any camera component.

With our new Adapter Plates, we now offer direct compatibility with the Manfrotto, Gitzo and other brands of quick release tripod systems with our Universal Adapter Plate (model #755CUP.2). Arca Swiss-compatible users may choose the Universal or our specialized plate (model #744ASP.2).  Alternately, if you use an Arca Swiss style L-bracket, you may find our Slim Quick Release Clamp more convenient (model #733QRS). Or you can contact your tripod's manufacturer for their adapter clamp options. The Cotton Carrier Camera Hub will mount onto any quick release adapter or clamp that has a 1/4" threaded hole on the underside. Some products require (or include) a 1/4" to 3/8" threading bushing.

EXAMPLES:

If you use the Bogen Manfrotto RC4 system you will need the Bogen Manfrotto 394 RC4 Quick Release Adapter.

If you use the Velbon system:  consider the QRA-667L Quick Release Adapter and Plate Assembly
*If you already own a Really Right Stuff quick release clamp such as the B2-40 LR or B2-mAS which has a non-threaded hole, you will need to order our Really Right Stuff (RRS) Adapter Kit.

IMPORTANT: Along with using an Allen Key and screw driver to secure your RRS Quick Release Clamp to the Cotton Carrier Hub, we strongly recommend you use a thread locker, such as LocTiteÆ 425 ONLY, as this is a fast curing, low strength adhesive for locking metal and plastics fasteners. If you have any spillage, it is advised to use an Acetone cleaner for any excess.

Although it should not be required with sufficient tightening of the camera hub that causes compression of the rubber washer, you may wish to use an added measure of security to keeping your camera hub on by using a NON-PERMANENT, PLASTIC SAFE Thread Locker (e.g. LocTite 425).

Other LocTiteÆ or similar products may not be suitable for use, and are not recommended.
