I'm having trouble getting my camera insert to detach from the carrier. It keeps sticking. I have to pull really hard. Will it loosen-up over time?

Because of the tight tolerances, you need to wear in the hub and receiver. Take the hub off the camera and cycle it in and out of the receiver until it moves freely. It may take 20 to 30 cycles to clear the film left on the hub from the anodizing process. Put a little vasoline or cooking oil on your finger and rub it on the hub. That will also help with the wear in.
