Would love to see a lower profile option, I'm sure it must be possible.

Fitting the adapter plate to my camera was very easy, and fitting the adapter plate to my traveling Monopod was such a breeze. I am very impressed

I've been using this adapter plate for about 2 years and can't imagine going without it. I do a lot of hiking here in the Colorado Rockies and I need to be able to carry my camera and be ready to mount it on a tripod when the weather changes or the sun starts a disappearing act or waterfalls from the snow melt make for a special scene. This adapter is easy to attach though I seldom take it off. I haven't thought much about it because I consider part of my standard equipment but seeing it mentioned on the site here reminded me how much I depend on it. Great design. I have used it with Arca Swiss and a standard quick release mount. I don't use the hand strap anymore but when walking just around town it would be a comfortable safe carrying attachment. This has fit well on both my Nikon D700 and my D850 and my wife has used it on her Sony RX10. I have used it with the Harness and the Skout but prefer the latter as it has less mass.

Purchased this adapter & was a bit disappointed (well, a lot disappointed) that my camera slowly moves when it's on the tripod when using this adapter plate. It's fine when shooting landscape angle but doesn't work when changing to portrait angle. Also, I have to move the quick release plate to access the battery. It attaches nicely to the harness & will be comfortable to lug 2 cameras around without straining my neck! I'll have to come up with a solution to the movement issue. Using it on Canon 5DS-R with 24-70 mm lens.

I have one of these for each of my cameras. The adapter plate makes it convenient to attach your camera to both your tripod and Cotton Carrier. I've read that people have trouble with it moving around. I have not had this problem more than twice in the 4 years I've been using it. It's always a good idea to check that everything is tight once in a while. I use the Monfrotto quick release as shown in the 3rd photo. I also use the hand strap that Cotton Carriers sells. The plate works well with my Canon 60D and 80D cameras and does not block the battery door even with the hand strap. In addition, I also have the older style plate that I use on a long lens. That does block the battery door, but the new system does not. Considering how much I use my camera with my Cotton Carrier and tripod, this accessory is well-worth every cent. It is constructed very well.
